JAMMU, July 11: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Raghav Langer today made an in-depth tour of the Ransoo area in Reasi district and listened to people’s issues.
The Div Com also chaired a meeting at TRC Ransoo to review the progress of various development projects.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh; ADDC, ACD, ACR, the executive engineers of JPDCL, Jal Shakti, PWD, in addition to the district officers of agriculture, horticulture, tourism, rural development, education and other relevant departments.
The SDCs, BDCs, representatives and members of civil society from neighboring Panchayats also attended the meeting.
At first, the Division Commissioner interacted with the locals, listened to their grievances and asked the officers involved to ensure that real issues were dealt with in a timely manner.
The PRI and the public have asserted their demands for the improvement of road connectivity, the renovation of school buildings, health establishments, the modernization of the infrastructure of Jal Shakti and Power, the rationalization of teaching staff in schools, the settlement of mining problems, development of water bodies and other problems of public interest.
The Div Com issued on-site instructions to the departments concerned for a rapid repair of the foreseen problems. He assured the PRI people that all real demands would be met as a matter of priority.
Responding to water issues, Div Com inquired about the status of the Gaj water project in Sangar, the Rud nallah water project and other projects. He ordered the authorities concerned to speed up the work on the water supply projects undertaken within the framework of the Jal Jeevan mission and to provide hand pumps and start the supply of cisterns in areas in need of water. water.
While listening to the health-related grievances, he called on the Ministry of Health to provide an X-ray facility to PHC Ransoo and upgrade Pouni PHC to SDH and resolve the staff shortage issue.
The Div Com also listened to the public grievances regarding the urban plan and the master plan of Ransoo.
He called for the early completion of the Deot Bridge and the formulation of the Barsoti RPD to the Chunalsangar road via Gulzar in order to provide better connectivity to the locals and attract tourists to potential places beyond the holy shrine of Shiv. Khori.
While taking stock of tourism sector projects, Div Com reviewed the progress of the Ransoo to Shivkhori cable car project and requested tourism authorities to develop facilities in Kotla and Sangra, including tourist huts, toilets and other facilities.
He also led the identification of other potential tourist sites by involving the locals. “These remote snow-covered areas have enormous tourism potential,” he said and asked the tourism department to explore the possibilities of introducing paragliding, adventure sports and other tourist attraction facilities. .
Later, the Divisional Commissioner visited the Shiv Khori Shrine and paid homage to the holy cave of Shiv Khori.
He asked the officers concerned to make further improvements to the trek route to the cave through proper lighting, the installation of signage, toilets, drinking water facilities, Yatri sheds and other pilgrimage equipment.
DC Reasi was asked to create better infrastructure en route and at Ransoo Base Station, including IT services, a dedicated web portal to the Holy Shrine, and tenders for the restart of helicopter service between Katra and Shiv Khori.
