Vancouver, British Columbia – Newsfile Corp. – March 15, 2022 – First Hydrogen Corp. (TSXV: FHYD) (OTC Pink: FHYDF) (FSE: FIT) (“FIRST HYDROGEN“or the”Company“) is pleased to report on the progress of its two FCEV demonstration vehicles through its partnerships with Ballard Power Systems Inc. (“Ballard”) and AVL Powertrain UK Limited (“AVL”). Both vehicles demonstration units (sourced from MAN, part of the Volkswagen Group) are located at AVL’s UK headquarters, one was disassembled and used for detailed design and packaging evaluations to accommodate the Ballard hydrogen fuel cell, plant systems balance and hydrogen (H2) petrol tank. This includes preparations for the installation of the hydrogen fuel cell, the power battery and the H2 petrol tank. The second vehicle concerns the analysis and integration of control systems.
The first of two hydrogen fuel cells supplied by Ballard has been built (see photos below) with the addition of all required components including air system, thermal management and cooling system and l hydrogen supply. This fuel cell system package was shipped to AVL headquarters in Graz, Austria for fuel cell testing and optimization. The second assembly of the fuel cell system will follow shortly.
After optimization, the fuel cell systems will be returned to AVL in the UK for integration and commissioning in vehicles. On-road/track testing is scheduled for June 2022 with final delivery for on-road use in September 2022 and First Hydrogen will then be able to introduce its “zero emissions commercial van to replace gasoline/diesel fleets.” Alongside the development of demonstration vehicles, the Company is pursuing green hydrogen production projects in the UK and elsewhere. The company’s development of its state-of-the-art fueling station continues with FEV Consulting GmbH of Aachen, Germany.
