According to a report from the Odessa Police Department, an officer was patrolling an area known for drugs on Eastern Highway 80 on Thursday morning when he spotted a Ford Taurus with expired August 2020 tags and no insurance. .

The driver of the car, Machalie Dawn Jarrett, 34, and his passenger, Dustin Anthony Travis, 34, were taken to Ector County Jail on suspicion of manufacturing/delivering a controlled substance, a Class 1 felony and possession of marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor.

According to the report, Jarrett was also arrested on suspicion of having a banned substance in a correctional facility, a Class 3 felony, after correctional officers watched her change in jail and discovered that she was hiding 1.2 grams of methamphetamine and six gabapentin pills. , an anticonvulsant.
